The Tuamotu archipelago means “many islands”. It is indeed one of the largest archipelagos, with no fewer than 76 atolls (low-lying islands). Among the best-known are Rangiroa, known for having one of the world’s largest lagoons, as well as unique vineyards. Then there’s Tikehau, with its pink sand beaches, and Fakarava, a paradise for scuba divers.
